Dodge and Burn, and filtering

This flower shot was taken during a hiking trip last summer.  I used the emboss filter to achieve what I think is a really cool image.

This is my cat Spaghetti.  I used the cartoon filter on him.  I loved the original image, but it wasn't quite as clear and crisp as I wanted it to be so using this filter helped to distract from that.

This is what I did using the dodge and burn tool.  It is a neat way to create subtle differences.  Or bold differences too I suppose.

  1. I have use embossing in other programs in the past it really is a cool effect for some images it makes your pick look more like a pewter engraving the effect you used on your cat really made it a much sharper image he is much clearer after filtering, I also like the eyes on the moon

  2. Your kitty looks so cool. Did you see Josh's photo of himself he used the cartoon filter on? Both he and kitty look like they're ready for their own comic feature.

  3. Ammanda. I love the first photo with the embossing filter. it really brings out a lot of detail in the plant and leaves. Your cartoon filter for your cat is cool....I guess you can make sure of a slightly blurry image after all. I know that I may like the photo that I take but its too blurry..now with these filters can adjust the photo to not have to actually delete them. The moon photo is neat...and the added faces to the man in the moon...lol This must have been the night when the moon was the closest to us that it will be for another 13 years....that was quite a sight to see. My brother took soom really cool images of that was well. Nice work with your dodge/burn and filters.
